The BC SPCA was established over 120 years ago and we continue to grow stronger every year. We are a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Today we have 44 locations throughout BC that provide a wide range of services and programs to help more than 45,000 animals in distress and need each year.

An opportunity has arisen for a Generosity Services Assistant who is comfortable interacting with our donors. Working at our Provincial Office in Vancouver the successful candidate for this 14-month contract, will work 4-days per week and will work closely with the Generosity Services Team within the Revenue Development Department as well as work the reception desk when needed. You are a sociable and highly donor/customer-oriented individual that will participate in the day to day processing of confidential donor data into Raiser’s Edge database, fulfillment and support for our donors with a particular focus on the coordination and execution of scheduled monthly transaction processing.

You have a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. You will answer calls from the public regarding donations, addresses and other updates in a courteous and friendly manner. Duties include but are not limited to participating in sorting and distributing incoming donations, ensuring security and integrity of payment and donor information, making corrections promptly when requests are received through the mail, email and other sources in accordance with excellent customer service.

Required skills, knowledge and abilities to be successful in this role:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in fundraising or donor relations within a non-profit, with high volumes of donation processing coming from various sources.

  • Quick and accurate data entry skills, with attention to detail and mindful of confidentiality.

  • enthusiastic, with a strong aptitude and a positive “can do” attitude

  • Exceptional prompt, friendly customer service manner.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as work independently

  • Advanced level computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Tools.

  • Knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge 7 is preferred.

  • Ability to assess, recommend, plan, and implement changes in process and procedures.

  • Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
