THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Q - Can I bring my class for a shelter tour at the BC SPCA?

The BC SPCA offers shelter tours at the discretion of the BC SPCA branch manager and must be arranged well in advance.

Please understand that our shelters are working adoption facilities with animal care and adoption as their highest priority. The viewing of our animals is mainly for adoption purposes as many experience stress from being in a unfamiliar environment. High stress levels can compromise an animal's health and human contact between animals can spread disease.

A school presentation by a BC SPCA representative is advised instead of a tour of the shelter. Shelter tours are not recommended for groups larger than 12 or for kids younger than ten years old. Please contact a BC SPCA branch near you, to inquire if they can accommodate a tour for your class.
