Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Q - I am under 19 what volunteer opportunities are there for me?

To volunteer with the animals you must be at least 16 years of age.  Opportunities for youth 16-18 years of age are limited.  This is to ensure the safety of the volunteers in our programs.  Find the website of a BC SPCA branch near you to learn more about their volunteer programs and requirements.

The BC SPCA feels that youth involvement in promoting animal welfare in the community is very important.  Have you thought of some other ways you could help animals in your community?

  • Organizing a bake sale or neighbourhood dog wash to raise money for the animals at your local branch of the BC SPCA, is a great way to get involved

  • You can also join the BC SPCA Kids Club. You will receive a welcome package, four Bark! magazines a year and a monthly e-Kids newsletter to keep you in the loop about animal issues, events, contests and more!

  • Why not hold a BC SPCA themed Birthday Party? You can download or order special kits and activities to help you host an animal themed party at your home.

  • You can start a BC SPCA club with your friends or ask a teacher at your school to host a club.

These are just a few ways that you can help animals out in your community!
