THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Q - I've heard about some horses that may be sold for slaughter. Will the BC SPCA rescue them or know who can?

The BC SPCA rescues and cares for as many horses as possible who are suffering from neglect or abuse. In 2014 more than $130,000 has gone towards their rescue, transport, board and care.

To help with re-homing and adoption of horses in British Columbia, we recommend contacting the Horse Council of B.C. who can provide a list of groups in B.C. that specialize in fostering and providing adoption services for horses.

For more information on how the BC SPCA is helping horses in distress, view our online cruelty investigations archive.
