THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Q - My child loves kittens/dogs/bunnies the most - can I specify the types of animals I want at a BC SPCA birthday party?

Unfortunately no, we cannot guarantee a particular type of animal will be present at a BC SPCA birthday party (for example, kittens or certain breeds of dog).

Prior to the party, the host will go down to the shelter and communicate with shelter staff to identify some appropriate animals with which the party guests can interact.

Please be advised that sometimes, for health and/or safety reasons, direct contact with animals may be limited. We thank you for your understanding in appreciating that first and foremost, our shelters exist to care for and adopt out homeless animals, and that their health and welfare remains our priority. We also prioritize the safety of you and your guests, therefore we cannot have children interact directly with shelter dogs or other animals where we do not know the temperament of the animal.
