Q - What is a wild animal?

The BC SPCA defines wild animals as species that have not been domesticated. Wild animals have evolved in complex ecosystems resulting in mutual relationships with other wildlife and their environment. Wild animals can be bred in captivity but given the relatively few generations of breeding experienced, they are still considered to be "wild" (compared to thousands of generations of breeding to be domesticated).
