Volunteering for the Animals
We can't do it without you! There are so many ways your support can help us provide the programs and services to educate, fundraise and operate on a daily basis!
Provincial Office
We are always looking for individuals to participate in animal welfare campaigns by assisting project leaders with general office support such as photocopying, filing, collating, typing, data entry and adoption follow-up. We tailor work tasks to your interests and experience. Apply online today!
Special Events & Campaigns
Province wide or through community branches, the BC SPCA hosts a number of special events and campaigns every year. We cannot hold these events without the help of generous and enthusiastic volunteers.
To volunteer at an event in your community, please check your local branch page for upcoming events.
School Presentations
Humane Education is at the heart of the BC SPCA mission. Caring for animals helps children develop self-esteem, empathy and responsibility. The programs below encourage ways of looking at the world that respect the needs and differences of others, while recognizing similarities and relationships.
Volunteer humane educators visit schools to deliver humane education presentations on responsible pet care, dog bite safety and the role of the BC SPCA in the community.
This program, ideal for former or retired teachers, requires volunteers in the Lower Mainland with a minimum of three years' experience working with children in an educational capacity, a child-friendly dog who must pass temperament testing and their own transportation. They must be available during school hours and a flexible schedule is required.
Currently, positions are available in West Vancouver.
Interested parties should forward a resumé to:
BC SPCA Provincial Office 1245 East 7th Avenue Vancouver, BC V5T 1R1 Phone: (604) 681-7271 Fax: (604) 681-7022 Email us
Opportunities also exist outside the Lower Mainland for educators to host groups and tours at the branch. Please contact your local branch for information about programs in your community. Or visit our School Presentations and Branch Tour section.
