Local news

Big Ben didn’t get his name by coincidence; he really does live up to it. He was brought to the BC SPCA Abbotsford Branch by a Good Samaritan when he was found wandering around near the Lougheed Highway; a pretty scary thought given how busy it can get.

Big Ben was not yet neutered nor did he have any identification to help staff locate his family. He was held for a period of time, but with no one coming to pick him up he became available for adoption. Before going home with any new family the Abbotsford branch made sure he took a trip to a local veterinarian to be neutered and tattooed.

After his routine procedure it was only a short week before Big Ben found the family he had been looking for. He now goes by the name Brady and is an avid hiker and napper.

We found Brady online at the Abbotsford SPCA branch and fell in love instantly. We have an 11 yr old husky X and we were looking to add to our family. Brady is absolutely hilarious. He makes us laugh every day. He has brightened our lives in so many ways and we are so lucky to have found him.

He came into the SPCA as a stray however he has not chewed one thing in the house and is completely housetrained. The only thing we are working on is the mouthing because he is so big that it might be scary for people that don't know this gentle (120 lb) giant.

We have had him for 2 weeks and it feels like forever. He is already hiking off-leash and learns new things quickly. Brady sleeps on the couch or in bed, he brings his leash over and drops it at your feet when he wants to go out and he has a penguin toy that he puts on our runners when he wants to go for a hike. He is a comedian and we just love him!!!!

Thank you for the love and kindness that you give to these animals.

Given the right home environment Brady really seems to have come into his own and we think that’s fantastic. Thank you to his new family for making adoption their first option and we absolutely love the pictures.
