Emmett and Melrose

ID: 426269 & 425945

In their ten years, Emmett and Melrose have been through thick and thin. The two domestic short hair cats are very bonded, and need a home where they can be together.

Emmett and Melrose arrived at theBC SPCA Burnaby Branch in February 2017. Their guardian had passed away, and it took several weeks trying to catch them in their home. Melrose is the white female, and Emmett is the orange and white male.

Emmett is a shy lad, and will need time to adjust in a quiet, adult-only home. In his foster home, he has been coming out of his shell with encouragement from his foster guardian and emotional support from Melrose. Still, his initial instinct is to hide, so he needs a committed guardian willing to coax him.

Melrose is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl. She loves belly rubs and snuggles, and being silly and active with Emmett at night. She also enjoys gazing out windows.

With a little encouragement, they will play. They had lived with five other cats and a small dog, so they would be fine in a forever home with friendly, gentle and respectful pets.

If you would like to meet these incredible cats, please contact the BC SPCA Burnaby Branch at (604) 291-7201 or To view more adoptable animals, please visit the BC SPCA Pet Search site.
