Local news

Louise was found as a stray on April 12, 2012 and taken to the BC SPCA Chilliwack Branch

Angela had been looking on the BC SPCA’s online adoption site, and visiting local branches, for a Siamese mix to add to her cat family. She already had Spazz, a nine year old Siamese mix, and was drawn to the breed due to their loving and unique personalities.

When Angela read on Louise's profile that was she “very needy”, she knew right away that it would be the right fit for her home. It was exactly how she would describe her Spazz who would often get lonely when Angela was at work.

Angela fell in love with Louise’s sweet disposition when she finally met her. She was confident that her Spazz would feel the same way. However, when she brought Louise home on May 20, 2012, it was not at love at first sight. Despite a few initial territorial spats, clawless batting and hissing, Spazz and Louise have now settled in nicely together. Louise has been renamed Panda and Angela continues to grow more in love with her as each day passes.

Angela provided us with an update, along with some photos, of Panda relaxing in her new household for us.

It has now been just over two weeks and although her and Spazz aren't cuddling up on the bed together for afternoon naps, they take great joy in playing with each other. I am often woken up in the very very early morning because they are thundering back and forth throughout the house playing tag.

Though Spazz is eight years her senior, he is like a hyper teenager around her.  It reminds me of when I first got him as a three month old kitten.

Panda (aka Louise) has a lovely disposition. She loves to be pet and purrs up a storm. She is not a lap cat, but that is probably a good thing as Spazz is and he might get a wee bit jealous if my lap was taken by another. I am so pleased that I did not give up finding the right cat.

I could not have asked for a better addition to the family and I would like to thank the BC SPCA Chilliwack Branch for the excellent service they provided when I was completing the adoption.

Angela

Thank you Angela for sending us this update. We are glad that Spazz and Panda have reach a truce and are enjoying each other’s company. It certainly would appear that this gorgeous girl has made herself right at home.
