Star, a 12-year-old miniature poodle, was rescued from a puppy mill near 100 Mile House in September 2010. She has spent most of her life, locked up in a cage with little opportunity to socialize and enjoy exercise and the comforts of a real home. Since then, she has been in the protective custody and care of the Chilliwack Branch.
Thankfully, this precious and delicate little girl is now being cared for in a volunteer foster home where she has made great progress with patience and gentle handling. But, Star still gets nervous and frightened around small children and strangers. She would be happiest in a quiet home with a stay-at-home guardian and a fenced back yard.
Star is a very sweet, loving, and cuddly dog who gets along extremely well with all pets including cats and other small dogs. She loves to go for car rides and is gaining confidence walking on the leash. Thanks to the generous support of BC SPCA Biscuit Fund donors, Star has recently received dental care to improve her neglected oral hygiene.
If you’re interested in meeting Star, please be prepared to come to Chilliwack to visit Star before an adoption application can be approved. For more information or to arrange an appointment to meet Star, please email the Chilliwack Branch.
