Archie, a two-year-old male cat, was brought to the BC SPCA Comox Valley & District Branch in April after someone saw him cruelly thrown from a car right onto the highway. Thankfully he was not injured and still had a very friendly demeanor.
Archie quickly made the shelter his home not wasting any time being shy or reclusive. With such an outgoing personality, he quickly became a staff favourite. He was the kind of cat that did not have an off button; he was always ready to play and cuddle. It was evident that as Archie never tired, he needed a special home that had the time to entertain him for hours a day. Archie soon met his match in a family that was looking for a dog-friendly cat, as they had a dog who also wanted to play until the wee hours of the morning.
Archie's new family has sent in an update, sharing pictures of him and his new brother “Gus” and a letter about his Easter weekend with the whole family.
To: Comox Valley BC SPCA staff
Mr. Archie got his first taste of the outside on his harness this weekend. We had my family over so I wanted to get him out because they all wanted to be on the patio so I told them they all had to take turns with the leash and they all agreed :) He loves eating and laying in the grass!
Thank you, Archie’s Family.
Congratulations on your new home Archie; it brings us comfort to know that you not only found the right family, you found a best friend too. We hope to hear more in the future about Archie and Gus’ escapades.
