Seymour was a beautiful black cat that came into the care of the BC SPCA Comox Valley & District Branch in November 2011. She had been picked up as a stray who had no identification, so it would be very difficult to reunite her with her family. Seymour waited to see if anyone would come for her, but it was discovered her family had actually moved away and left her behind.
Seymour was such a loving young cat with a friendly attitude that no one was surprised when she was adopted just a couple weeks later. Her new family wrote to share an update and photos:
We were adopted by Seymour (now Shasha) on Dec 28, 2011 at the Comox Valley SPCA Adoption Centre and she immediately started exploring and marking the entire house with her nose glands (we had had two cats for many years and lost them both a few months apart due to old age almost a year ago and it was time for us to be owned by another cat).
She is very affectionate, she comes when we call her and she wants to be in the same room we are in all the time and splits her time between rooms when Jeff and I not together in the same room and she just loves to get up on the wide window ledges to watch all the birds and other things of interest.
It took her about a week to really feel secure and now she has started playing very enthusiastically with the cat toys that are scattered all over the house. She has us both wrapped around her paws and has found her forever home.
Jeff & Loraine
Shasha sounds like she has really settled into her new life and is really making the most of it. Congratulations to Jeff and Loraine on being chosen by Shasha and all she has to offer.
