Local news

Cleo and her sister ended up in the care of the BC SPCA Kamloops Branch when their owners were moving up north and were unable to take these lovely ladies with them. It was July of 2011 and Cleo was a beautiful cat with such a bright personality that no one thought she would wind up spending many days and months waiting for her forever home. Cleo’s sister was adopted just days after being surrendered, but for some reason Cleo was being overlooked time after time.

Cleo had an amazing coat that she loved having groomed on a regular basis and she was just longing to keep someone’s lap warm with it. She liked to chat with you about her day, but that never stopped her from taking some time to relax and show you some affection. It took almost five months and Cleo being featured as a Guardian Angel animal before she found a place to call her home. She is now relaxing with her new family and enjoying her time spent indoors getting brushed, fed, and loved on a daily basis.

Cleo is doing great! She's the cutest kitty ever. We brush her everyday and give her lots of pets. I've never met a cat that likes belly rubs as much as she does!

My mom got her a Christmas present; it's a fleece lined thing that makes noise when you scrunch it. Like that leopard tunnel I donated that she wasn't interested in. She may like it though. The laser pointer is her favorite as well as the Scratch Lounge my coworker gave me. I bought her some fuzzy mice and she plays with them when she's hyper.

She's very talkative; she meows when she wants attention or wants to talk. We took her to the vet last Friday for a check up and she's very healthy. She tried to bite the vet when he was feeling her kidneys though. I don't really blame her for that; getting poked in the kidneys is not fun.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

Congratulations to Cleo and her family for finding each other and thank you for making adoption your first option.
