Sammy is a five-year-old, brown brindle, female Boxer – and she is absolutely adorable!
Sammy was surrendered to the Kamloops SPCA in June, 2012, because her owner was moving.
Her previous owner described Sammy as being active, protective and affectionate. Just look at her big, goofy smile and you’ll fall in love.
She is an excitable dog, but she is learning to sit for attention instead of jumping up. She needs a home with active and experienced guardian(s).
Sammy loves to go for car rides and seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. She has made lots of new doggie friends while at the shelter, but does tend to be the bossy one.
Sammy has been nervous around children in the past, so it would be best if she went to a home without children.
Sammy has a tendency to want to chase cats (they just look so tasty!) so is not suitable for a household with small animals.
She is fearful of people on bikes or skateboards, so she needs someone that will spend time with her getting use to these kinds of things. She could use some simple desensitization training for these issues.
Sammy may become anxious if left alone for too long, so she may need to get use to spending time alone gradually. Sammy's ideal home would be with someone that is very familiar with the Boxer breed.
