Shadow originally came into the BC SPCA Quesnel & District Branch in August 2011 as a stray with no identification. After being held for quite some time and no one coming to look for him, Shadow was going to start his journey to a different branch through The Drive for Lives program.
After being neutered and tattooed at a quick stopover at the BC SPCA Williams Lake & District Branch, Shadow soon made it to his final destination, the BC SPCA Kelowna Branch. Soon enough Shadow found himself a home that was interested in his boisterous personality. Unfortunately a few months passed and Shadow was soon back at the shelter once again looking for his perfect home. Sadly, Shadow ended up being just a little too bouncy and playful for the family’s other dog.
Shadow really loved to be around people and although he could be a little bit overbearing with other dogs, he really did enjoy playing. It took almost a month, but Shadow eventually met his new forever family and has been living happily ever after since. They took some time to give us an update on how he’s been doing.
Shadow is the perfect dog! He's over 6 years old and extremely well trained. He's affectionate, loves to chase a ball, and shakes a paw for a treat. He has changed our lives completely and I don't understand why he was up for adoption for so long.
It was a lucky day for all of us to adopt him. He has no bad habits and loves everyone. He's quiet, loves his walks three times a day (getting me off the couch), likes to sail, and is friendly to other dogs.
He gets brushed at least once a day and thoroughly enjoys it to the point of rolling onto his back so we don't miss a spot.
Thank you Kelowna SPCA for changing our lives and our heart goes out to the previous owner who had to give Shadow up.
What a worldly traveler Shadow is turning out to be, we’re so happy his life has done a complete 180. Thank you to his new family for making adoption your first option and opening Shadow’s life up to endless opportunities.
