Gypsy Rose was a beautiful young cat that was picked up as a stray and brought to the BC SPCA Maple Ridge Branch. She had been walking along the Burnett Highway before someone driving by stopped to help her out.
Gypsy Rose had no identification to help staff track down her family who was surely missing her. She had a wonderful disposition and was very cuddly right off the bat. Everyone was very surprised when days turned into weeks and no one came to claim her.
Alas, Gypsy Rose was made available for adoption; she had just been spayed and received a tattoo in case she ever found herself lost again. It sure didn’t take long before this beauty met her match; her new mum has written us a wonderful letter to let us know just how things have been going.
Hi,
My name is Bonnie, on January 24th 2012, I found my dearest little fur companion! Her name, Gypsy-Rose. She came with that name and after days trying to find the right name for her, I realized, that Gypsy was her name!
We recently had become "empty nesters" as our daughter went off to college and then a year later, her cat passed away. It was a no brainer that I was going to adopt a cat this time, and the best decision I've ever made, where pets are concerned!
Since the very first night she came into our home, she has slept on, or near my bed! Something no other pet has done in our house before her. She is absolutely the love of my life! She's sweet and cuddly, and likes to talk to me and give kisses (on her terms)!!!....
I am amazed, after having many cats over the years, how Gypsy has fit right into our home and family so perfectly. She is happy and funny and loves to play with her toys and chase that crazy "red dot" all over the house...
She loves to sit in the window and watch the birds and people pass by. I decided to keep her an indoor cat. Every day, she shows us how much she loves us, and is so happy we made our home her home too!
I have and will continue to recommend pet adoption thru the SPCA to my friends and family! It was a truly great experience! Thanks to the staff at the Maple Ridge SPCA for doing a great job and helping me find my fur friend, or how I like to refer to her as "my baby".
Sincerely,
Bonnie
It’s amazing how quickly animals can bond with their new family, it’s as if they know these people will truly love and care for them the rest of their lives. We’re so happy that Gypsy found who she was meant to be with and we’re very grateful to Bonnie for making adoption her first option.
