Polar was a stray that was picked up in Prince George and taken to the BC SPCA North Cariboo Branch in January. It wasn’t exactly the best time of year to be out wandering the streets; cold weather can be very tough on dogs even though they seem to have a nice warm coat on.
Polar had no forms of identification and had not yet been neutered even though he was definitely the age where he could have been. When no one came forward to claim Polar as their dog staff made sure he was neutered and tattooed before making him available for adoption.
Although he was a very handsome dog there was not a lot of interest in him from potential adopters in Prince George. As a result, Polar went for a ride on the Drive for Lives to the BC SPCA Maple Ridge Branch to help maximize his chances for adoption.
Polar was quite the lucky boy indeed; within a week of being at the Maple Ridge branch he had found a home to call his own. His owner has since updated us on his life, pictures included.
Well he finally has a name....CHASE, he is doing very well and is fitting in wonderfully, he listens really good, I take them down to the dyke off leash and does very well. He got a clean bill of health at the vet and a rabies shot. Here are some pictures....
What a great new life Chase has embarked upon with a new family and a new best doggy friend. We’re so happy to see how well he is doing and to hear how healthy he continues to be. Thank you to his new family for making adoption your first option.
