Meow! More happy cats in B.C.

Local news

Sweet little Lupe was only one month old when she was surrendered to the Nanaimo Branch of the BC SPCA on November 9, 2009. Her former family could not afford to provide her with the proper care and love she would need to grow into a happy and healthy cat.

Thankfully, Lupe received a very special holiday gift. Lupe was adopted on December 24, 2009 into a loving new family. They now call her Luna and they recently wrote to provide us with an update on her progress.

My sister-in-law and I came to Nanaimo Branch of the BC SPCA in Dec 2009 to celebrate Christmas together. The office told me that they only had one kitten at the moment and that was when I met Luna (aka. Lupe) the kitten.

When I first held her she purred like a motor and gave me snuggles right away and I knew she was the one.

We took her home that day and since then, we have not once regretted getting a second pet. We were hesitant at first to see if she would react to our adopted dog Buddy, but you can rest assured that Luna and Buddy have found life long friends in each other.

If Buddy comes to say Hi, Luna will follow as curious as she is while trying to paw at his tail. At bed time, she and Buddy join us as we give cuddles before falling asleep.

We are truly a family now with the addition of Luna and as she grows bigger and more curious, she fills our lives with laughter and friendship.

Thank you for letting us take her home!

Congratulations to Luna, Buddy and the entire family!
