We travelled from Victoria to Nanaimo to meet Jonesey, after having browsed through the SPCA's "Pets Available for Adoption" search page, and fallen in love with his green eyes.
He had been found as a stray by the Nanaimo shelter on March 16, 2010, with a deep gash to his neck. When we met him he had healed nicely from his neck wound (and from his neutering) and we took him home on April 30th, 2010. We were lucky he was still available for adoption as there was another family viewing him at the same time as us.
Jonesey immediately fit into our family, presenting himself as a loving family cat who enjoyed some down time. At first he didn't know what the laser pointer was, and couldn't figure out how to play with his new toys (or wasn't relaxed enough to play with them). He enjoyed exploring his new home and getting a lot of attention from his human siblings.

Now he has settled into life in our family, he enjoys playing with the laser pointer, his mice, balls and feathers, and his favourite sleeping areas include his human sister's room (at night) and a planter (during the day).
His new Dad, Vlad, is particularly glad to have found him, as he reminds him of one of his favourite childhood companions (a DLH tabby cat) he'd had as a boy growing up in the Soviet Union.
We look forward to enjoying Jonesey for the rest of his long, happy life.
Sincerely, Catherine, Vlad, Max, Indi, Jonesey
PS: Big thank you to all the hard work at every SPCA, and a big hello/meow 'thank you' to the Nanaimo SPCA.
