Garf came into the care of the BC SPCA on May 6, 2015, after being found abandoned by his previous owner.

He spent some time at the BC SPCA Chillilwack Branch and at the BC SPCA Abbotsford Branch before he was transferred to the BC SPCA Port Coquitlam Education & Adoption Centre through the Drive for Lives Program on June 30, 2015.

He is snuggly, playful, quirky and an all around favourite here at the Centre. He is a very sweet boy who loves to be with his human friends. However, he should go to a home with no other pets and be indoors only.

He is a total lap cat who will let you pet him for days. Garf also loves to play with water! All the volunteers always ask to hang out with Garf in his room as he is so loving, affectionate, and desparate for attention.

Garf has been with us for awhile, as we were sorting out his food allergies. We sorted out his main allergy, and placed in him in a foster home for a few months which seemed to help significantly.

However, upon his brief return to the Centre, his allergies came back with him. Therefore, we feel there may also be a stress component from the Centre. He is currently back in his foster home to give him a break from the Centre.

While his skin is not at 100%, we feel that improvement will only come in a forever home. His new guardian will need to continue with what we have been working on, keeping his allergies in check, and will need to keep on top of them, for his entire life.

Everything considered, this furry guy is totally worth it. If you would like to meet Garf in his foster home, please contact us at 604.468.4044 or send us an email at
