The Port Coquitlam Education and Adoption Centre is a proudly volunteer-operated BC SPCA location focused on helping animals in need find their forever homes.

Adoption Centre Hosts

Volunteers who have direct contact with animals and perform a variety of tasks are called Adoption Centre Hosts. These critical supporters work hands-on with the animals in our care, help visitors make educated decisions about pet guardianship, and so much more.

If you are interested in becoming an Adoption Centre Host at the Port Coquitlam Education and Adoption Centre, please download and read the following AnimalSense Program Manuals.

Volunteer at the BC SPCA

You can volunteer with the animals, in one of our many programs that provide care and enrichment to our animals, or for the animals, by using a special skill set that you may possess, such as graphic design, event planning, a trade or other specialized skills.

All applicants must first attend a volunteer orientation. The orientation provides an introduction to the Society, its structure, mission, beliefs and overview of its programs.

Please view our current volunteer opportunities and apply online today!

Youth volunteers

Youth 12-15 years may volunteer alongside a parent or designated guardian, who will also be an active volunteer in our centre, and will supervise their child/teen at all times. We encourage families to apply, but please be aware that due to high volunteer interest, weekend and evening volunteer opportunities may be limited.

Volunteers aged 16 to 19 years must submit a written release and consent form signed by their parent or guardian prior to volunteering.

For information on our other volunteer programs, please contact us at 604-468-4044.

Volunteer orientations are usually held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, approximately once a month. The orientation fee is $10 and includes a T-shirt and name tag. Once you downloaded and read the important manuals provided here, we welcome you to apply online today!
