A group of students at Edgehill Elementary School recently took part in a Destination Imagination BC fundraising challenge, and chose the BC SPCA Powell River Branch’s Shelter Building Fund as their cause.
The students planned their fundraiser, promoted the event at school, and encouraged all the classes and grades to raise money as the week of their fundraiser progressed. Students were encouraged to bring in pennies on Monday, nickels on Tuesday, dimes on Wednesday, quarters on Thursday, and loonies and toonies on Friday. The class which raised the most money won a pizza party, and as a result, the team raised over $650 throughout the week!
Thank-you to Dawson Brown, Declan Kealey, Marieka Gutter-Spence, Grace Gould, Madeline Cimaglia, and their parent leader Leah Evans for the amazing work they did in putting together such a successful fundraiser, in addition to opening up their homes and volunteering their time to taking in abandoned and stray pets, and making doggie shampoo for our foster animals.
Last but not least, a big thank-you to all the students at Edgehill Elementary for their generosity. Animals at the Powell River SPCA Shelter waiting to find their forever homes will have benefited from your amazing efforts!
