Westview U-Vin raises a glass and a large donation for the Powell River SPCA
When the weather outside is frightful, a nice glass of wine indoors can be delightful, and even more so when those raising their glasses are also raising money for the BC SPCA.
In early November of this year, Westview U-Vin U-Brew hosted a tasting event for their Limited Edition wines, which were paired with a number of delicious appetizers. Tickets to the event were $20 each, and all the proceeds from this year’s tasting were generously donated to the Powell River branch of the SPCA.
“We are big supporters of the SPCA” said co-owner Jackie McLuckie, who presented a cheque in the amount of $740. “This is an annual event for us, and we plan on donating the proceeds from next year’s event to the SPCA as well.”
Westview U-Vin’s wine tasting of their Limited Editions takes place each October or November of the year. We can’t wait to attend next year’s event and enjoy the fruits of their labour in support of local animals here in Powell River once more!
The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization funded primarily by public
donations. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and to promote the welfare
of animals through a wide range of services, including cruelty
investigations, emergency rescue and treatment, sheltering and adoption
of homeless and abused animals, humane education, advocacy, farm animal
welfare, spay/neuter programs, and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
