Mortty

We have now had Mortty home with us for two weeks. We really enjoy having him here and he certainly seems happy to be here.

Mortty is very well behaved and is always eager to get out with us. I take Mortty to work with me on a daily basis and he spends 7-8 hours on the run with me in the bush. One day last week we covered 12 kms on foot and he enjoyed every minute of it, he never lacks energy. He has a tendency to chase deer, cows and bears. The only thing he barks at are the bears. I am trying to break him of this habit because this could get him in trouble. Mortty actually broke a fairly heavy nylon leash in two pieces last week when we encountered a bear. The good thing is that he comes back when called- although sometimes reluctantly.

Mortty is well behaved in the house and gets along very well with our kids. The one thing that Mortty likes best is the pick up truck. When out in the yard Mortty will jump into the cab of the truck through the open window and sit or lay on the seat of the truck for hours if you leave him be. If the windows are up the back of the truck will suffice just fine.

Our thanks to you, your staff and the Quesnel SPCA for all you have done for Mortty and the other animals you care for so well and for giving us the opportunity to give Mortty a new home.
