Bernie was a wonderful boy who easily became a staff and volunteer favourite. He was brought to the BC SPCA 100 Mile House & District Branch when he and a sibling were born from an unwanted litter.
The 100 Mile House location is actually made up of a group of foster families, so Bernie and his sibling were right back in a home environment. They were both already a few months old and willing to find homes immediately, but no one in the area was interested.
Puppies can be a lot of work, but when the right person or family comes along it changes everything. Bernie and his sibling were brought to the BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre Branch through The Drive for Lives program with hopes somewhere there would be looking to adopt.
Bernie had a bit of a shyer nature than his raucous brother, but that was okay with him; sometimes the strong silent type is more appealing. Not a show boater by any means, Bernie was very sweet and loved a good cuddle session; he was going to make an excellent family dog.
His loving new family took some time to let us know how well Bernie, now Jax or Jackson, has adjusted to his exciting new life.
About a year ago we adopted a puppy named Bernie from your shelter. We've changed his name to Jax (Jackson), and he's settled right in. He loves mountain biking, camping, and especially running in streams.
We couldn't imagine life without him.
Thank you again, Chris, Leah & Jax
Kudos to Jax for finding himself such an awesome family to cuddle up to and exercise with, his new life sounds amazing. Thank you to Chris and Leah for making adoption your first option and helping Jax come out of his shell, he sounds like he’s doing great!
