Pepsi was brought to the BC SPCA Abbotsford Branch on May 22, 2011 when his owner needed to surrender him and several of his siblings. It turned out that Pepsi’s Mum had run away and could not be found, so the owner needed someone who was able to look after kittens that were only days old. They all went into foster care right away to help them get the love, attention, and nourishment a young kitten requires.
Soon it was time for another visit to the vet for examination and it went great, Pepsi was eligible for an early age neuter and tattoo. After his routine surgery Pepsi was brought back into his foster home to recover and spend some more time with his siblings before they all went up for adoption.
At the end of July, Pepsi went up for adoption at the Abbotsford branch where he waited and waited and waited for his new forever family to come find him. Soon it was decided he might fare better elsewhere and he came to the BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre via the Drive for Lives program. Pepsi had been available for over a month with no one interested in him, for some reason black kittens and cats are always harder to find homes for.
Sadly, Pepsi fell ill with an Upper Respiratory Infection and he had to go into foster care again. Little did he know his foster mum was a very special lady who would make him feel like a king! It took a bit of time, but soon enough Pepsi was all better and ready to go back up for adoption. This is where he met Calli, his new sister and best friend for life.
Calli came to the BC SPCA Chilliwack Branch on July 25, 2011 when her owner surrendered her as she was part of an unwanted litter. She was almost two months old, but it was best for her to wait a little bit longer before going up for adoption, so off to foster care she went. Shortly after, Calli made a trip to the vet to have an early age spay and tattoo (just like Pepsi) so she would be all ready to go up for adoption. After she had recovered she was raring to get into her new forever home, so she immediately went up for adoption.
Calli had waited quite some time with no suitable homes interested in her. A decision was made and Calli was transferred to the BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre to help maximize her chances for adoption. A few days after arriving there were already several people hoping to take Calli home, but unfortunately she found herself with an eye infection. Calli went into foster care to receive the medication and extra attention she needed to help her feel better.
Once both Calli and Pepsi were back in action at the Richmond branch it didn’t take long for people to start showing some interest. A wonderful family applied for both of them in November and it seemed to be perfect; both Calli and Pepsi went home and have started to really let their personalities shine.
Hello all, I just wanted to send you all an email thanking you for your help with adopting our new "babies". Calli and Pepsi have adjusted really well to being with us, the whole family loves them and of course can't imagine how we got by without having them before this.
I have attached a pic of each kitty, Calli loves sitting in my Daughter's princess chair, which is fitting because we are finding she is quite the princess. And Pepsi is extremely interested in the bathtub. Anytime anyone is in the bath he is there on the ledge. He hasn't fallen in yet, but we're waiting for it. Thank you all again, Andy, Jenn and Lily :)
We’re so happy to see that Calli and Pepsi have both been able to relax and be themselves in their new home; it’s comforting to know their forever family loves them as much as we did. Thank you so much to Andy, Jenn, and Lily for making adoption equally your first and second option, it truly makes a difference in this world.
