Victoria was found in November 2011 wandering the streets the Langley. She was soon brought to the BC SPCA Abbotsford Branch in hopes of reuniting her with her family, with no identification that was going to be quite the challenge.
When no one came forward for this beautiful young domestic short hair an appointment was made at a local veterinarians office to have her spayed and tattooed.
Once recovered, Victoria was made available for adoption, but sadly no one seemed to be looking for a young, friendly, black and white cat. So instead of hanging around the Abbotsford for too long, Victoria took a ride on The Drive for Lives program to the BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre Branch.
Initially shy with people she ended up warming up to just the right people when they came looking in March 2012. Her new family has written to let us know how Victoria, now Binky, keeps these days.
We had been looking for a little kitty to share our lives for some time when, on a whim, we took a trip to the Richmond SPCA and immediately fell in love with Victoria (now called Binky)! She was everything we had been looking for, small, sweet and black and white.
We officially adopted her at the beginning of March 2012 and she has already brought so much joy and love into our lives in the 4 months we have owned her.
Initially shy and tentative, she has turned into an extremely confident, affectionate kitty. She is especially playful and adores chasing balls around the apartment and chasing feet under the bed covers!
The bird feeder outside is an endless source of amusement to her and she incessantly chirrups at the birds, presumably to tempt one down close enough to eat. She also loves to cuddle up on a warm lap when you’re least expecting it, purring loudly and kneading!
All in all, she’s just the best darn cat we could ever have hoped for - playful, affectionate, fun-loving and beautiful. She’s a fan of the head-butts and head-rubs and when she jumps on the bed at 5am to come close and snuggle up to us, I just have no idea how we lived without her!
Thanks so much Richmond SPCA!

We’re so happy we could have a hand at helping Binky find her purr-fect home. Now that she has found the people she was meant to be with she really seems to have come out of her shell. Thank you to Jenny and Brian for making adoption your first option.
