Local news

A Constable from the BC SPCA Chilliwack Branch was sent to a residence in Cultus Lake because a concerned citizen thought some animals may be in distress. It was a good thing this person called in because Winter, along with some of her siblings, was found to be without all of the Five Essential Freedoms.

All the puppies were brought back to the Chilliwack branch so that they could be given the medication, food, and water they needed before heading into foster care as they were still quite young. Winter thrived in the foster home and became a bouncy, happy puppy now that she was getting so much loving attention.

Once all the puppies were healthy and ready for adoption, they were brought to the BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre Branch through the Drive for Lives program to maximize their chances of finding a forever home.

As soon as people heard about these cute little balls of fur there were line-ups waiting to meet with them. Only four days after being brought into Richmond’s care, Winter had met a family that had fallen in love with her. She was adopted out to them and they are happy to watch her grow. They wrote to share a photo and an update:

Here is a photo of Pumpkin (aka Winter). She is a chewy, energetic ball of fur! Very smart and we love her lots. We are so happy to have her.

Jennifer and Bon

It looks like Pumpkin has settled in quite nicely and is well into her chewy puppy stage, but given what a fast learner she is, we bet it won’t take her long to outgrow it. Thank you so much to Jennifer and Bon for making adoption your first option and for providing such a great home for Pumpkin to live in.
