Adopted!

Bert is pretty sad without his best friend Ernie. Both were abandoned outside of the BC SPCA Port Coquitlam Education & Adoption Centre Branch in November 2010. Best buddies for the length of their stay with the BC SPCA, sadly Ernie has passed.

Bert is a lovable Chinchilla who comes across first as shy, but ultimately loves time spent near or with people. Although currently about 12 years old, Chinchillas can live for 20 years.

Bert may be in his twilight years, but he’s making the most of them. Nothing is better to him than spending the whole day sleeping before getting up at night to enjoy some of his favourite activities.

A good roll in his dust bath, chewing on his apple twigs, hopping around his cage, and delighting in his daily treat of either a Shreddie or dried cranberry are just a few of his favourite things.

His life sounds pretty great right now, but it could very much be enhanced by spending the rest of his years with a loving family all his own. We bet Bert might even like another male friend to bond with if given the right opportunity.

If Bert sounds like your cup of tea please contact the BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre Branch for more information on adoption and proper Chinchilla care.
