Maxine was homeless and had been spotted in a Kaleden, B.C. neighourhood for months prior to being picked up and brought to the BC SPCA South Okanagan/Similkameen Branch on October 4, 2010.
When she first arrived, she was weak and in need of proper food and shelter. After a short time in our care, she was able to gain back her strength and become an optimistic and high-spirited girl.
Visitors would have been sure to see and hear Maxine in one of the hallway kennels. She would desperately put her paw out or meow to anyone who walked by or looked her way.
After eight months of patiently waiting, Maxine was adopted on June 27, 2011 by a loving family from Penticton, B.C. They now call her Marley and wrote to share an update on her new life.
Marley joined our family just after we lost our beloved cat Rocco.
We decided to adopt an older cat because we wanted to give her a second chance with a new family.
When we went to meet her she was not the warmest cat, but once we got her home she was so full of love she couldn't get enough of us and wanted to be with us 24/7.
It was as if she was saying "thanks".
She has made quick friends with our Parrot and is settling in to her new forever home. We feel very fortunate to have adopted such a wonderful cat.
Thanks!

Congratulations to Marley and her new family. We wish them a long and happy life together.
