THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.
My husband and I adopted our little girl from the South Okanagan Similkameen Branch of the BC SPCA at the end of November 2009.
Her name was Shelley but we changed it to Shelby. We think she must have some Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever in her since she is very goofy, loves to roll around, play, and rarely barks.
Shelby also loves birds and will chase anything with wings, which can be a challenge at times. She is learning to walk on a lead without pulling, loves to run beside a bicycle, and is good natured in every way. She does have a tendency to chew and dig when left alone, but since we've started biking with her in the morning and the early evening, this has decreased. Shelby is truly joyful and affectionate. She brings a smile to my face everyday and motivates me to exercise more, which is good for both of us. Shelby gets along very well with our cat, Charlie, and they play and sleep together.
We look forward to many happy years with our little sweetheart.
