Gerry Garcia is a young dog who has been through a lot since his owner died last June. Taken to a shelter after his owner passed away, Gerry Garcia was adopted but it quickly became clear that his new home was not the best fit, Gerry Garcia had never been around livestock before and had no idea that he was not to chase. So back to the shelter he went. Adopted out again, Gerry Garcia was soon picked up as a stray, reclaimed and then found himself back in a shelter due to no fault of his own. So not only did he lose his owner, this young dog has not had a place to call home for over seven months.
As you can imagine Gerry Garcia is starting to become a little depressed and stressed at not having a stable, consistent lifestyle. No matter how nice, a shelter environment is no place for a young dog to grow up in.
Gerry Garcia (23" high) is a happy, friendly boy who loves playing and is eager to enroll in obedience class with his new guardian. He's a smart boy though, is attentive, eager to learn and enjoys learning new tricks. Gerry Garcia is also very food motivated, which makes training all the more attractive for him. With his "kind" face Gerry Garcia is sure to wiggle his way into your heart, but please remember that he is youngster and will require regular exercise along with mental stimulation to keep him well grounded, and happy.
Gerry Garcia loves to play and plays well with other dogs, though he is partial to female canine pals and can be a bit choosy about who his male buddies are (so proper intros should be done).
A loyal companion waiting for someone to bond with, Gerry Garcia is looking for an active home, a fenced yard (to keep him safe) and an adult home - kids 10+ years okay, but he just might knock toddlers over. A sweetie, Gerry Garcia is a sociable fellow who is very affectionate, enjoys playing with his toys (he can be a bit hard on stuffies though) and is eager to start exploring the Sunshine Coast with his new guardian.
