Adoption Information
At any one time, our branch has dozens of animals in its care. By choosing to adopt from the BC SPCA you are choosing to give a homeless animal a second chance at a happy life.
All applicants are carefully screened to ensure our animals are placed in the best possible home. BC SPCA animals are matched with guardians based on their general lifestyle and the type of care they can provide. To some it may seem rigorous but we want to ensure adopters understand the commitment they are embarking on.
We try to place animals in permanent homes so they don't end up back in our shelters. All adoptions require a completed application and an interview with an SPCA representative.
Visit our adoption information section for a list of frequently asked questions.
Please note: All dogs, cats and rabbits will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
We regularly feature homeless animals currently in our care, who are in need of a forever home. Check back often for new features, and updates on previous features.
We feature all available animals for adoption online with advanced search features, and access to other locations throughout B.C.

Adoption Application
Speed up your application process if you find an animal available for adoption online or met one at our branch and needed more time to commit. Complete as much of the attached application as possible, and bring it with you to our branch when you come to adopt.
BC SPCA Cost of Care
The cost of animal adoption from BC SPCA branches may vary slightly in different regions; this is due to demand for animals, cost of care within the region, etc. The cost of a shelter cat or dog includes spay/neuter (or discount for the operation if it has not been done prior to adoption), a health guarantee, and vaccinations. In addition, many of our branches are able to include other extras such as flea control, collars and leashes and more. To learn more, visit our main site for BC SPCA Cost of Care information.
Annual Adoption Challenge
BC SPCA branches across the province compete annually to save animal lives throughout May in The Great BC SPCA Adoption Challenge. Top prizes are awarded to the communities that increase their adoption totals by the highest percentage over their previous year totals. Visit our main adoption information section for more information.
