Lucky first found himself at the BC SPCA Burnaby Branch after his devoted guardian became severely ill and had to move into a care home, which sadly Lucky could not go too.
After a short time Lucky was transferred via the Drive for Lives program to the BCSPCA Sunshine Coast Branch to help him find a new home. With a soft and shiny coat and bright inquisitive eyes, Lucky certainly didn't look his age (12-years-old) and though very friendly and interactive with people, underneath his brave exterior he was sad, confused and missed his previous life.
Lucky lived up to his name however, and was lucky enough to find a home within two months...even though he is a mainly black, senior male cat. His new family have recently sent an update on how he is settling in.

Hi there, Lucky walked in and made himself right at home as if he's been here his whole life. He is purring so loudly that we've nicknamed him "Motor Kitty". Miss Lucy (the 20 year old Calico) was not pleased but is already coming around :-) I would love to somehow send this photo to his previous owner so they can see his new retirement home.
Thank you so much for all your time and phone calls back and forth to me.
Love, Sue, Nev, Miss Lucy and Lucky
Thank you Sue and family, for understanding that although Lucky is a senior, cats can live up to 20+ years of age, and therefore Lucky still has many more years of companionship to offer.
