Local news

Sage first found himself at the BC SPCA Kamloops Branch with his canine pal Willow after their guardian became too ill to care for them both.  Used to living a rural life on acreage, Sage was used to being outside during the day and sleeping inside at night and wasn't exposed to much traffic or the hustle and bustle of city life - he had led a bit of a sheltered life.  Though, being the youngster he is, Sage is also playful, energetic and excitable once he knew you.  After a short time at the Kamloops Branch Sage was transferred to the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branch, along with Willow, to help them find a new home.

Happily neither Willow nor Sage had to wait long for a home.  A family living on Vancouver Island originally spotted Willow on-line and after going through the application and phone interview process travelled here (the trip involves two ferry rides) to meet her.  But after meeting Sage they knew he was a perfect match for their family !  Sage loved their 5-year-old boy and was very gentle with him, the adults in the home have lots of dog experience and the whole family is very active so Sage will be a busy boy now :-)

To top it off, there are no other pets in the home so Sage has everyone all to himself.

PS Willow was adopted into a new home a short time later.

Sage's new family have recently sent a wonderful update on how he is now doing!

Hi to all at the Sechelt SPCA,

My husband, son and myself came over from Nanaimo June 2/12 to adopt Sage and just wanted to say thank you again!

Sage has settled into our home wonderfully and is fantastic with our son. They cuddle on my son’s bed at night for storey time and is gentle when playing in the back yard

He’s a really calm dog, learning well with the lead and an overall joy to have.

I’ve also sent a photo of him sprawled out on our front deck.

Sincerely,

Kelly  :0).
