Sweets first found herself in care at the BC SPCA Kamloops Branch with her son Smokey (also adopted); after several months in Kamloops Sweets was transferred to the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branchto help her find a new home. A young cat, Sweets had arrived at the Kamloops Branch quite nervous of people but came along in leaps and bounds, though she did still have some lingering shyness so would be best suited in a quieter home environment were she could relax and be given time to settle in.
Sweets quickly found herself a new home on the Sunshine Coast after a woman visited the shelter during the annual Open House, she spent a lot of time with the cats, wanting to make the right decision. The following weekend she returned to visit with the cats again, there were quite a few cats she had short listed and she spent time more time with each of those cats . . . it was a hard decision. But in the end, Sweets was the one !

Sweets' (now named Gracie) new home has recently sent an update on how she is doing along with some wonderful pictures of Gracie relaxing on the deck in a lounge chair!
Hello Sunshine Coast SPCA,
Just thought I’d send you some recent pictures of Gracie to show you how purrrrrrfectly she is settling in to her new home. Turns out she is a deck lounger, just like me. In fact, I expect her and I will be spending much quality time deck lounging this summer!
Thanks so much for bringing her here from Kamloops. Gracie has added so much love to our lives, and we are so very thankful to have found her.
Best regards, Sherry
