Youth supporters raise funds for the animals

Olivia Elliott is an eight-year-old that lives on the Lower Mainland, but travels to the Sunshine Coast to visit her grandma Marilynne. Marilynne is a dedicated cat volunteer at the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branch.

Olivia stopped by the branch with her grandma to drop off money she raised with her friend, eight-year-old Madison Dempster. Olivia and Madison sold hand-drawn pictures and flowers out of their garden. They donated $35 in proceeds from their fundraising activities to the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branch.

Not only is Olivia a generous supporter but she also opened her heart and home to adopt a kitten (formerly known as Captain) from the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branch in July 2010. He's know called LeRoy and is happy and healthy in his loving new home.

You can learn more about supporting the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branch or meet adopted animals through our Happy Ending stories.

The BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branch provides care and protection to hundreds of animals each year. Your gift can help give an injured, abused or neglected animal a second chance. Please donate today.
