Nikita arrived at the BC SPCA Sunshine Coast Branch in December, 2011 when her owners moved and couldn't take her with them. Nikita is a young well-mannered dog who is not only stunning, she's smart! Nikita knows sit, down and is attentive and eager to learn more; she also has wonderful recall. Affectionate and a cuddler, Nikita enjoys being brushed and hanging out with her people, though being young she also enjoys a game of fetch - at this time two balls are required as Nikita is not inclined to drop the ball yet (though she is learning). Swimming, agility, tracking or a long hike will also wear off some excess energy, help keep her fit and most importantly, keep her mind stimulated.

She also enjoys a fast sprint / race around the play yards with an equally active canine pal (check out her video with Trooper). Nikita is no lay about and needs a job. One thing that Nikita doesn't quite understand is that meals will be coming regularly, she arrived quite underweight, so her new guardian will need to ensure that food is not easily accessible and though not worried about people being around food, Nikita can become quite bossy when she thinks another dog is a little too close to food or balls so she will require some training in that area. Though she may never be a gal that wants to totally share her toys.

Nikita is a young, intelligent, energetic dog who will bond quickly with her new guardian and make a loyal companion, always by your side. A dog-experienced adult home (kids 10+ okay), cat free and someone able to help Nikita reach her full potential is what this black beauty is waiting for.
