Holly and Hugo, Hugo and Holly... any way you say it, these two are a pair who sadly found themselves homeless after their guardian became ill and could no longer look after them. Having lived together for 11 years with their guardian - since they were tiny pups - Hugo and Holly are doing well considering their circumstances. A happy pair who love attention and heading out into the play yard to play ball or hang out in the pool... which is really quite small, but somehow they manage to fit in it together (see videos).
Watch a video of them in action!
As you can see by her picture, Holly (pictured below on top) is a little broad and has lost her girlish figure somewhere along the way. But don't let that fool you, she is always up for a game of fetch - with a ball or Frisbee - and yes, still wants to herd and keeps her eye on the ball waiting for you to throw it! A girl with manners, Holly will patiently wait to be told to eat. And want to know a little secret? Her favourite food is melon.
Hugo (pictured at the bottom) also enjoys a good game of fetch and is well behaved and gentle. The only thing you really have to watch out for with Hugo is his tail, he likes to wag it a lot and any low laying ornaments or glasses on a coffee table just may be knocked over with a swish of his tail.
Holly and Hugo truly are a wonderful couple and even though they are considered "seniors" at 11 years old, they are not ready to snooze the day away. They are used to heading to the park for an hour long romp and are playful and energetic; but they won't pester you all day to be kept entertained like a younger dog would.
Both Holly and Hugo are friendly, outgoing and sociable dogs who enjoy company and living life to the fullest and have quickly become a staff and volunteer favourite here. Do you have a spot in your heart and home for Holly and Hugo ?
