Toto was a sprite young dog when he was brought in by a concerned citizen who found him wandering the streets. Once in the care of the BC SPCA Surrey Branch, Toto was checked for identification, but sadly he had none.
Unable to call his owners, staff and volunteers waited to see if anyone would come claim him. A spunky young dog that had some manners and loved to go out for walks; it was a surprise to everyone when his family didn’t come claim him. Toto was neutered and tattooed before being made available for adoption.
It sure didn’t take long for someone else to figure out just how special Toto was, his new family fell in love with him after their beloved Rosie passed away. Thankfully Toto, now Archie, has enriched their lives with his outgoing personality and adorable little face.
They have since taken a moment out of their time spent with him to let us know how he is faring in his forever home.
After losing our sweet Rosie to cancer we had an enormous hole in our hearts, so we decided that we needed a new family member. We looked and looked, and when we saw Archie's picture on the SPCA website we were immediately smitten.
As soon as we met him we knew that this was the guy that we could make happy forever. We filled out the adoption application and worried ourselves sick until the day the SPCA said we were approved.
Archie is an amazing dog; he quickly learned all of the basic commands and gets along with cats, dogs and people. He loves his walks, the dog park, playing and cuddling. Everyone that meets him wants to take him home. Archie can get a little bossy at times, but even when he is being a little bit evil he makes us smile. It really isn't his fault though; he has no clue that he only weighs 22lbs. It is possible that he believes in his heart that he is an Airedale Terrier not a Border terrier. To this day we cannot believe that when he strayed from his first home that no one tried to find him. We would go to the end of the earth to make sure Archie is with us forever. Our thanks to the wonderful people at the SPCA, without you we wouldn't have our little man. Thanks again, Les and Lori
It is always a difficult time in life when a loved one passes no matter how much we prepare ourselves for the inevitable. We’re thrilled that Les and Lori were able to reopen their hearts to Archie and chose adoption as their first option.
