Just before her first birthday, Smudgey was abandoned by her owner at a stranger’s doorstep in Salmo, BC. Thankfully this caring citizen was kind enough to bring Smudgey to the BC SPCA Trail Regional Branch in July 2011.
She had no forms of identification making it impossible to find the person who just discarded her when they no longer wanted Smudgey. Once in the shelter it was discovered that she was an affectionate young lady who got along fantastically with all the other cats in the communal.
Smudgey was soon spayed and made available for adoption. To no one’s surprise Smudgey found a home quite quickly with a family that includes both dogs and cats. Her new family took some time out of their day to let us know how Smudgey, now Alice, is doing.
Hi,
I just wanted to share, our family adopted "Smudgey" (now known as "Alice") from Trail last August. She has adjusted well, clings to my husband and loves the dog and other cats.
She is very talkative and meows when you whistle at her. We are happy she is a part of our family. Thanks for bringing us together.
Shelly
We’re so happy for Alice and all the happiness she has clearly found with her loving adoptive family. Thank you so much to Shelly and family for making adoption your first option.
