Say ‘hi’ to this shy guy…

Molson, aka “Dexter” (as his foster parents call him), is a two-year-old coonhound mix who was brought into the BC SPCA Trail Regional Branch as a stray.

He's an incredibly handsome boy with a classic white and tan coat. He also rocks a blue bandanna like nobody's business.

In addition, Dexter is a very polite guy who is rather reserved with his affection. In other words, he’s not a fan of P.D.A. – but then again, what guy is?  Thankfully, this means Dexter doesn’t jump up on people. What a gentleman!

Staff say Dexter is also a very clever boy who is house-broken and knows all his commands including: heel, easy, sit, down and no.

Dexter is somewhat sheepish, but staff have been working on building up his confidence and courage through lots of socialization.

While Dexter is quite timid and bashful around strangers, he does “come around” in his own time. Because of his gentle nature, an adult-only family would be the best environment for him.

As well, he seems unsure of how to interact with other dogs, so gradual and gentle introductions are best. He is curious about cats but respects their space.

Dexter isn’t crazy about toys but absolutely loves racing back and forth between his people in an open field.

If Dexter sounds like the companion for you, please contact the BC SPCA Trail Regional Branch at (250) 368-5910 or trail@spca.bc.ca To view more adoptable animals, please visit the BC SPCA Pet Search site.
