Smigel and his sister found themselves in the care of the BC SPCA Vancouver Branch in June 2011. Their owner was having a hard time finding time to properly care for these wonderful cats and made the difficult choice to surrender them.
As they were a lot of cats already at the shelter, Smigel and his sister went into foster care for a short period where much was learned about their daily routines and behaviours. Smigel was a chatter and loved a good snuggle in bed with whoever was willing.
It took a bit of time, but Smigel soon found a lovely home where he is cherished and cared for every day. Now living with a new cat, Smigels’ family sent us a quick note to let us know how he’s been.
Smigel who now goes by Shmu is a very welcome addition to our family with his gentle nature and goofy ways. Though Shmu and his kitten brother Teacally did not hit it off right away they now have a bond and have even started sleeping together.
Shmu's loving and nurturing nature is not always appreciated by Teacal, i.e. when Shmu decides to bath Teacal when he is sleeping, but Teacally enjoys him none the less and Shmu's pretty keen on Tecal too.
Attached is a couple pic's of Shmu enjoying his new home. The first one is of the boys cuddling and watching the game. The 2nd pic is Shmu getting his way and having fresh tap water. The 3rd is Shmu and Teacally sun bathing.
Cuddling and watching the game? It sounds like Shmu has figured out exactly what the finer things in life truly are. We’re so happy Shmu has found a great family to call his own, thank you so much for making adoption your first option.
