Pinky Pie and Sparkle are bonded sisters who came under the care of the BC SPCA Shuswap Branch in August 2016. Both were older kittens when they were found in a wild cat colony in the Salmon Arm area. Once they were brought into the BC SPCA, they needed some time to rehabilitate so they would have the best chance at finding their forever home.
The two kitties made lots of progress and got a little bit more used to being around people and and learned how to trust them. But they still needed a family with lots of patience and one that would be willing to put in the time and work needed in order to bond with the two young cats. They were both eventually transferred to the BC SPCA Vancouver Branch, where in February 2017, Pinky Pie and Sparkle found their forever home. Their family sent us this update:
We adopted Jaffy (Pinky-pie) and Elly (Sparkle) on Feb 4, 2017. They are a bonded pair of cats that had been in the Vancouver shelter since August 2016. They were both very timid when we adopted them as they had been rescued from a wild cat colony.
I'm delighted to report that they are both loving their new home. They enjoy sitting together on their perch watching the birds and squirrels. Night time is their favourite time when they run amok chasing cat toys all around the house. Jaffy likes to drink water by dipping her paw into the bowl. Elly, with her stripes, looks like a stealthy bandit. All they've stolen though is our hearts. Love ‘em to bits.
We are so glad to hear that Jaffy and Elly have really come out of their shell. It sounds like they’re really comfortable and that you’ve really earned their trust. The pair are so lucky to have found their forever home. Thank you so much for choosing to make adoption your first choice.
