Apply to become a BC SPCA Vancouver Branch volunteer
Calling all animal lovers! As of February 4th, the Vancouver BC SPCA Shelter is opening up to accepting new volunteers applicants.
Below are the workshop dates for 2013;
February 18 - information session from 6-8pm March 5 - dog workshop from 6-8pm March 6 - cat workshop from 6-9pm March 7 - foster information session workshop from 6-8pm
May 14 - information session from 6-8pm May 28 - dog workshop from 6-8pm May 29 - cat workshop from 6-9pm May 30 - foster information session workshop from 6-8pm August 13 - information session from 6-8pm August 27 - dog workshop from 6-8pm August 28 - cat workshop from 6-9pm November 12 - information session from 6-8pm November 26 - dog workshop from 6-8pm November 27 - cat workshop from 6-9pm November 28 - foster information session workshop from 6-8pm
*Please note that all out volunteer opportunities are for those 19 years or older and our website will open up on the 1st of each month for the corresponding workshop dates. Due to limited space availability, we will be closing the application process after we receive 30 applicants for each of the quarterly information session dates.
Shelter animal foster care program
Currently we are in need of foster homes for both cats & dogs. All interested applicants will be required to attend an orientation, interview, complete a criminal record check and have a home check done by a BC SPCA representative. Please see the above workshop dates and volunteer process for becoming a foster home for the Vancouver BC SPCA.
Requirements

To volunteer with the animals you must be able to volunteer a minimum two hour shift per week for at least six months. If you are unable to meet that time commitment please consider volunteering in another capacity other than with the animals, for example events or administration.

You must be at least 19 years of age to volunteer with the animals.

Attend all training sessions.
