Burger was being used for breeding by his owner before being surrendered into the care of the BC SPCA Vernon & District Branch in October 2006. He was a very sweet dog that was definitely going to find a new home very quickly, and boy did he ever.
It was only nine days later when Burger met his match when they drove up from the Sunshine Coast to adopt him. Sonja has since sent us some pictures and an update on what Burger has been up to the last six years.
Hello! I have been meaning to send you pictures of ‘Burger’, who we adopted from you some years ago... we drove up from the Sunshine Coast to meet him :)
He loves life and has a lot of fun with his Mum – Erin. He is very loving but knows his job is to let us know when someone comes on to the property. He has my old girl (Bailey) as company at home, and plays with the other dogs in the neighbourhood all the time. He’s not the brightest bulb in the pack, but we love him very much – lol. Another success story for you! Hopefully someone there recognizes him... he looks like Fozzy Bear when he has his full coat on... like when he was a pup. Thank you for doing what you do :) Sonja
Hello!
Me and my mom adopted Burger in 2006 from the Vernon branch as a puppy, he now lives with us on our horse farm on the Sunshine Coast. Burger loves to go on runs through the trails with me and sometimes my miniature horse or the dogs from my dad's house (there in some of the pictures as well).
In the summer, he walks down to the beach with me and my friends and has a great time sun-bathing on the beach because he isn't very fond of swimming. He also in the summer, sometimes, camps at 3-day horse trials BC events with me and my family. He is a very happy dog, though not very smart!
Thanks for reading,
Erin
We can definitely see why Burger was adopted really fast; he is quite the handsome man. Thank you for making adoption your first option and especially for making the time to take the ferry rides and long drive out to Vernon to adopt Burger.
