Thelma was found homeless and had been hanging around a home in Coldstream, B.C. for a few days. She was brought to the BC SPCA Vernon Branch on August 23, 2010.

Staff and volunteers were thrilled when, on her two-month anniversary in our care, she was adopted. Sadly, things didn't work out when Thelma was the victim of bullying by another adopted cat in the home. And so, Thelma was returned to the BC SPCA on October 27, 2010. Poor Thelma was not happy about being back at the shelter and soon fell depressed.
But, we knew there was a home out there for her. Just a few weeks later, on November 19, 2010, Thelma was welcomed into a loving new home in Loon Lake. Her adoptive guardians now call her Saki.
Her new family shared an update with us on her progress. Her new home is quite large with lots of windows and places to lounge all day. They tell us that she is wonderful to have around and every morning they wake up to toy mice on their beds.
Saki's guardians mentioned that she has a ribbon that she carries around with her all day and if you listen early in the morning you can hear her on the stairs growling and swatting the ribbon.
Congratulations to Saki, who found her happy ending and is living the good life in her forever home!
