Koby's previous owners were unable to take care of him and give him the fulfilling life he deserved. This beautiful boy was surrendered to the Victoria Branch of the BC SPCA in February 2010. Thankfully, he was quickly adopted into a loving new "forever home".
Koby's new family wrote the following letter to update us on his progress.
Mark and I had been considering getting another dog in addition to our two-year-old german shorthaired pointer, Jaeger. We'd been into the BC SPCA a few times but kept talking ourselves out of it.
Just before Valentine's Day Mark stopped by the BC SPCA while waiting for me and fell in love with Koby and asked if we could consider another addition to our family. When we first brought Koby home he was on the pudgy side and had very little muscle definition but he tries hard and is getting stronger with each run he takes.
He was very shy and hesitant to play with Jaeger, but now the two chase each other all around the back yard and through the house. It has been very interesting for us to discover which quirks are just Koby's and Jaeger's quirks, and which ones are common of german shorthaired pointer's.
He greatly enjoyed camping, though preferred sharing the air mattress with mom and dad to sleeping on his bed on the ground, and he loves running while we bike on the Galloping Goose and explore new trails.
We are very happy with the new addition to our family, and are glad that we found Jaeger a brother. Both boys garner comments and smiles wherever they go. Thanks for helping to bring Koby into our lives!
