Milly was just an innocent young pup when she was surrendered with the rest of her siblings to the BC SPCA Victoria Branch in August 2011. They came as a bit of a surprise to the owner and there were more dogs now in the home than possible to care for.
Although barely two months old, Milly was already growing into quite the sweetheart. She caught the eye of a novice puppy family and Penny, the manager of the Victoria branch, spent a lot of time going over proper pet care and training to help them along their way.
Soon enough Milly was on her way to her new home and her new family has been kind enough to update us on how everything has been going.
We picked up our very first puppy friend into our family on 18th of Aug, 2011. There were many puppies but she stood out to us and we took her home after spending time there. We named her "Milly".
We as a family never owned a dog before and knew nothing about puppy care. Penny explained what to do and where to find more information to educate ourselves. Kids were in overwhelming joy as they held her in the car to take her home. Milly pretty much took over our life from that moment.
She wasn't sure about her new home and us but didn't take long for her to feel secure around us. She took any training very well and responded well. She is smart, sweet and loyal since she was very young.
She was 8 weeks old then and now 11 months old. She did well in obedience class and now she is in beginner agility class. We want to do everything with her and she goes pretty much everywhere we go.
She is one beautiful soul and so fortunate to have her in our family. Thank you SPCA for helping all the animals and there is no other way to get our family pets.
We’re so happy to know that as first time pet owners everything has gone amazingly. Milly seems to be thriving in her home and is learning so much already. Thank you to her family for choosing adoption as your first option.
